Alhamdulillāh, by the infinite grace and mercy of Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala, we present to you this book and enlightening commentary of Sūrah At-Taghābun. At-Taghābun means ‘the loss and gain’. It is a Madani Sūrah comprising 18 verses. The themes of this sūrah are an invitation to the faith of Islām; the oneness of Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala (tawhīd); obedience to Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala; and teaching of good morals.
This sūrah teaches us to display good conduct with our family members and to avoid harshness in dealing with them to the best possible extent. If they repent due to their wrongdoings, we should forgive them and overlook their misconduct.
