The purification of the soul and its rectification are matters of vital importance which were brought by our Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam to this Ummah. The literal meaning of Tazkiyah is ‘to cleanse’. The genuine Sūfis assert that the foundation and core of all virtuous character is sincerity and the basis for all evil characteristics and traits is love for this world. The genuine Sūfis emphasized heavily regarding rectification of the soul and character; they first reformed their own hearts, then steered their associates and disciples towards the same objective. Any type of sin is like poison to the heart which inevitably leads to its annihilation; all diseases of the heart originate from sinning. Sin is the impulse which inflames the diseases within the heart.
This book endeavours to address certain spiritual maladies and how to overcome them using Islamic principles.
