For those who doubt the Day of Resurrection, Allāh SWT is reaffirming that there is no scope for uncertainty; this day is indisputable and will surely occur. The day when the truth will be laid out bare and everything will be exposed, there will be no place to flee or escape to. Regretting that day will be of no avail; excuses will fail to safeguard or shelter a person from breaking free and escaping judgement.

This Sūrah (Al-Qiyamah) draws on the utter despair and regret that the people will have on the Day of Judgement, those who rejected the message and disobeyed Allāh SWT.

Sūrah Tūr was revealed in Makkah, it paints a vivid picture of what our Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam had to bear in Makkah, and Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala directly addresses the accusations of the disbelievers. This sūrah gives a graphic description of the conversations of the people of Jannah and the people of Hell, that perhaps the hearts may take heed and believe before it is too late.

As Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala so beautifully says: “Many a time (on the Day of Judgement when they will see the success of the Muslims,) the disbelievers will wish that they were Muslims.” (15:2)
