Six months prior to receiving prophethood, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam would see visions and dreams which would come true. During this period, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam would go to the cave of Hirā in Jabal Nūr. He would seclude himself in worship and remain there for continuous nights in succession until his provisions of food and water would completely run out.

In this book, the blessings of revelation are mentioned in detail under the commentary of Sūrah ‘Alaq. Furthermore, the commentaries of Sūrah Qadr and Sūrah Bayyinah are included.

In my student days, whenever we were taught by Muftī Saiful Islām Sāhib, he would always encourage me to write up my notes in order to have them published so that others can also benefit. Over the years, I have contributed towards many of the JKN publications but it was only in my first year of teaching Zād-ut-Tālibīn at Zaytūn Institute, Leeds that the idea came to mind that I should compile a commentary on this book with the help of my students.

Seeing the eagerness of my students with their studies, I requested them to work together to compile their notes for each hadīth in order to contribute towards the commentary. As we studied each hadīth in class, gradually my beloved students compiled their notes into commentaries.

This is a concise and comprehensive book about the life of our beloved Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam and after reading it, a person will become acquainted with the events that occurred during the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wasallam lifetime and how he managed to accomplish his mission in a short period of 23 years.
