The question we should be asking is why did Allah swt favour this ummah in such great fortitude? Why is this ummah regarded as being the greatest ummah? Why has Allah swt shown so much value to this nation? The people of this ummah have shorter lives and as a result- less worship,yet this ummah will be blessed with entry into heaven before all other nations. It is because of the work of tabligh (preaching) that this nation has been commanded to do. With previous nations, this role was solely selected for their prophets.Once the prophets had passed, this was not the responsibility of the nation.

Emotions are incredibly complex reactions we feel after facing differing situations. They contribute to our humanness, and without emotions, we would not function the way we are supposed to. During our lives in the dunya, we have felt, and will feel many different emotions and feelings, so its important to accustom ourselves with their significance in the shariah, as we’ll continue to experience them for the remainder of our lives.

Our Shaykh, Mufti Saiful Islam Sahib has commentated on many different emotions, and their significance in relation to the shariah. May this noble work be a means of our perspective being guided in understanding how we can use our humanity emotions to gain proximity to Allah swt. Amin

Surah Muddaththir bears a resemblance to the previous surah, Surah Muzzammil that was revealed directly before it. It was also one of the first surahs to be revealed. Surah Muzzammil and Muddaththir both begin in a similar manner. Whilst Surah Muzzammil focuses on the reformation of the self, in Surah Muddaththir Allah swt is proclaiming that now, after the process of tazkiyah (purification of the self), the Prophet SAW was prepared to come up against his adversaries.
