How many chances does mankind allow to aimlessly slip away? The possibility to redeem oneself lies wide open and countless. Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala provides us with ample means and every possibility of saving ourselves from the path of error; in redeeming ourselves from sin onto the path of His guidance and mercy.

The people are reminded about the fate of those who rejected Sayyidunā Hūd alayhis salaam. Not only did they disbelieve in Sayyidunā Hūd alayhis salaam and reject his message, but they displayed sheer arrogance by demanding for the punishment to be inflicted upon them if what he claimed was true.

Presented before you is a brief commentary of sūrah Hashr, the 59th sūrah of the holy Qur’ān. It is a powerful sūrah, with much to contribute.  Through studying this book and others like it, we gain a deeper understanding of why Allāh subhanahu wa ta’ala has sent us to this world, the status of the illustrious Sahābah radhiyallahu anhum, the miraculous nature of the holy Qur’ān, the hardships faced by Rasūlullāh sallallahu alayhi wasallam and how we can achieve success in this world and the next, amongst other things.

It is the noble habit of my Ustādh, Shaykh Mufti Saiful Islām Sāhib حفظه الله , to continuously stress the importance of understanding and connecting with the holy Qur’ān.
